Time Use Study
Who is doing, reading, listening, watching what, when, where and with what?
The goal of the Time Budget Study is
- to capture data on how the Swiss population is spending its day. Therefore Mediapulse measures all important categories such as working, eating, spare time and more.
- The consumption of media has been examined thoroughly and in great detail, embedding it into the daily schedule of the population.
Finally the intension of this study is to know simple facts and beyond the relations of these:
- How much time are the Swiss spending in front of the television, reading newspapers, listening to the radio or surfing on the internet?
- Would they do it for a longer time, if other activities would allow it?
- Which activities (professionally or spare time) have been reduced in favour of media consumption?
- What influence do New Media – new distribution vectors, but also new devices – have on the consumption of media? Is media consumption growing at all or is there just a shift?
